Issue with McAfee anti-virus solution

[Update #3] (If you have not done so already, please read through the previous updates below)

Please note that if dfolauncher.exe has been quarantined by McAfee antivirus software, please restore it before clicking the "Start Game" button on the DFO website.

If dfolauncher.exe is quarantined when you click the "Start Game" button, the system may ask you to re-install the entire DFO client.
 
[Update #2] The DFO Launcher is whitelisted in the latest version of McAfee. If this has been an issue for you, simply update your McAfee to the latest version by right-clicking on the McAfee icon in your system tray,
Then click on "Updates"!

This should allow the DFO Launcher to run without McAfee recognizing it falsely as a virus or malware. Again, thank you for your patience.

[Update] We have been working with McAfee over the weekend and have now cleared any McAfee false positives that might show up when launching DFO. The DFO Launcher will be whitelisted shortly, as which time please launch and play DFO worry free. As we wait for the whitelist process to complete, you may use the workaround listed in our previous post (below). Thank you for your patience.

We are aware that many users with McAfee as their antivirus solution are receiving messages of malware or viruses when launching DFO since our most recent client patch on Thursday, Oct. 29. Please rest assured that these are false alerts, and we can assure you that there are NO viruses or malware of any kind in our software. We are working with various anti-virus companies to remove these false alerts, and inaccurate messages should not appear in the future.

 

In the meantime, there is a workaround to enjoy DFO. All you have to do is turn off McAfee's real-time virun protection while game is downloading and installing patch files. After completing patch process and you have fully entered the game, you can turn on real-time virus protection again to keep your computer protected. We know that it's not a perfect solution and we are working hard to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
